This is in the Duomo in Siena. I still think this was the most amazing church we saw in Italy, which is saying quite a bit. Starting with the layers black and white granite that ran throughout the ENTIRE church, the painting of the domes and ceilings, the ornate side chapels, the main space lined with the busts of popes or saints or someone important to the church, the incredible floor of mosaics and inlay, the sculptures on the columns, and on and on and on. It appears that every single inch of the place was decorated in some manner. Really, just incredible.
